About Georgina Fontein, MA LMFT

Georgina (she/her) is a dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (Lic. #106937) and Nevada (Lic. #2556).

 

Georgina is a compassionate therapist dedicated to helping individuals work through challenges such as sadness, anxiety, eating concerns, and low self-esteem. She brings specialized training in suicide prevention, childhood trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), perinatal and postpartum mental health, crisis intervention, positive parenting, and eating disorders. Georgina is commited to creating a supportive, respectful environment, where clients feel understood and empowered to make positive, lasting changes in their lives.

In addition to her clinical work, Georgina regularly volunteers with ANAD (Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders), a leading U.S. nonprofit that provides free support services to individuals affected by eating disorders. She also serves as an Eating Disorder Ambassador for the Eating Disorder Coalition and supervises student therapists from clinics throughout Nevada, reflecting her commitment to advocacy, education, and the future of ethical, compassionate care.

Individual

Our individual therapy sessions are designed to address your specific concerns and help you navigate life's challenges. Through a collaborative and supportive approach, we aim to empower you to overcome obstacles and live a fulfilling life.

Issues that can be treated at this location include: anxiety, panic attacks, depression, trauma, disordered eating, relationship issues, divorce, parenting issues, perinatal and postpartum issues, anger issues, stress, self-esteem issues, grief, and phase of life issues.

Children/Teens

 

Children ages 5 and up are welcome to schedule. Mood issues, school issues, behavioral issues, eating issues, and parenting issues can all be addressed. 


Is your child defiant? Are they overly emotional? or perhaps you're worried about their recent change in mood? Georgina will work with the entire family system to ensure that all members understand the problem and can assist the client with practicing their skills daily. Therapeutic board games, and crafts are often played with children to assist them in expressing their feelings.

Family

Family therapy sessions aim to improve family dynamics, resolve conflicts, and strengthen bonds. By promoting understanding and effective communication, we help families navigate challenges together and create harmonious relationships.

What services do you offer?

Georgina provides a range of therapy services tailored to individual needs. She has been trained in CBT, CBT-E, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, IPT, TF-CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Exposure therapy. After meeting with the client and learning about the individuals goals, Georgina selects a modality to assist the client in meeting their needs. Georgina treats many different issues including: bipolar disorder, depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias, attachment issues, anger and frustration challenges, eating disorders, parenting issues, bullying in children, self-esteem issues, body dysmorphia, trauma, and relationship issues in romantic relationships and in family of origin.
